Huffhines Recreation Center is a new 25,000 square foot facility situated at the southwest corner of Huffhines Park. Heights Recreation Center features full regulation-sized basketball court in the gymnasium, a dedicated game room, larger fitness and cardio areas with new equipment, updated locker rooms, larger classroom space, a preschool room, an aerobics studio and WIFI Internet access. Five outdoor pools for public swimming. Bush Central BARKway, our new dog park, is a 2.6-acres site under the Bush Turnpike west of Central Expressway. Richardson Gymnastics Center a 16,000-SF that offers Level 2 through Level 10 gymnastic classes, and has its own competitive team. Golf and Country Clubs Sherrill Park Golf Course Ranked among Texas' Top 100 golf courses. Ranked 4th in Texas for low to mid-priced courses. Features two 18-hole courses and operates year-round. Elegant residential homes and city parks surround the course. Canyon Creek Country Club CCCC is a private country club with an 18-hole golf course designed by Press Maxwell. 3 swimming pools, 14 outdoor tennis courts, 4 indoor tennis courts. Newly renovated clubhouse for member events and corporate functions. Club attracts members from all over North Dallas area. Located 1 mile west of Central Expressway and Telecom Corridor ® area. Corporate Challenge Corporate Challenge is a 10 Week - Olympic style competition run by the city's Parks & Recreation Department. The Corporate Challenge is open to area companies, as well as companies in the metroplex. A full challenge consists of 54 companies; sizes of companies vary from 1000+ employees to 100 employees. Consists of 24 athletic and non-athletic events held August - October. Competition events range from Texas Hold 'Em, Cornhole, Volleyball to Basketball, there is something for everyone. Events are held during the week after normal business hours and on the weekends. Participating companies raise funds for the Special Olympics Texas throughout the games. The challenge has raised over $3 Million Dollars for Special Olympics Texas since the beginning. The Corporate Challenge is an official statewide sponsor of Special Olympics Texas. Cycling Events There are several events supported and organized by Bike Mart, a local business whose owner, Jim Hoyt, was Lance Armstrong's early mentor.
