Construction has begun on a 260,000-square-foot office and warehouse facility for AdvoCare International in Richardson, KDC announced Tuesday.

KDC, a real estate development and investments company, is developing and managing construction on the facility on 35 acres of land at 2800 Telecom Parkway. Completion is scheduled for July 2014, KDC said.

AdvoCare is a health and wellness company that is based in Plano.

The facility will include 235,000 square feet of single-story warehouse space and 25,000 square feet of two-story office space, KDC said. Advocare will use the facility for light manufacturing and product assembly, according to a release.

“This new facility will accommodate our significant growth in recent years, and allow us to serve our Distributors more efficiently moving forward,” said Reid Ward, chief operating officer for AdvoCare International.

The beginning of construction culminates a process that began more than a year ago when AdvoCare said it was looking for a location to build a distribution center.
