ViaWest, a private data center operator, on Wednesday reported "significant" growth in its Synergy Park Richardson, Texas-based data center.

The 85,000 square foot data center, which it opened last year, offers all the traditional table stakes items that all providers in this segment: high density power configurations, high capacity network access, disaster recovery office space, and cooling technologies.

This is a key data center in ViaWest's portfolio as it houses a number of high end vertical business data in vertical market segments such as financial services, manufacturing and transportation. In addition, the center supports healthcare services (HMS), high technology (Biometric Signature ID and Zulahoo) and higher education (UT Dallas).

As the data center provider continues to expand the site, Roy Dimoff, Chairman and CEO of ViaWest, said that "Phase Three of our Synergy Park build-out will enhance site resiliency through increased power and cooling capacities."

In a market segment that's becoming increasingly crowded, enhancing their major data centers with efficient cooling and increased power are possible differentiators ViaWest can use to attract new customers.
