Dallas-based KDC, along with State Farm Insurance, plans to officially break ground next month on its 1.5 million-square-foot regional operations center in Richardson -- the largest office deal in North Texas' history.
Construction began on the 186-acre, mixed-use site near North Central Expressway and President George Bush Turnpike in April.
Along with the lease for 1.5 million square feet of space, Bloomington, Ill.-based State Farm has also signed for another million square feet of leased space in Irving and Richardson to house its current operations. The deal garnered the Dallas Business Journal's 2012 Deal of the Year.
Last month, State Farm unveiled plans for its massive $600 million regional hub in downtown Phoenix, which will be similar to North Texas regional operations center. North Texas was one region of three selected from throughout the U.S. to house a State Farm's operation center.
The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 11, at 3521 N. Plano Road in Richardson.
