Richardson Restaurant and Retail Update

As of August 2011, 20 new restaurants have opened or expanded in Richardson this year as they continue to take advantage of strong business activity and several new and remodeled centers within the city.
Three unique new restaurants were added to Richardson's dining scene recently:
| Four Sisters Café, at the Shire on Bush Turnpike just east of Central Expressway, is the latest creation by Dallas restaurant legend Dale Wamstad and general manager Richard Brown, formerly with Hibiscus and Houston's. Four Sisters offers an eclectic menu of American cuisine. There are special meeting rooms, a large open bar area and a second floor balcony. |

| Vitality House, at 800 N. Coit in Promenade North Center is a special restaurant concept by owners who chose a Richardson location to start their new venue. The Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts trained chefs and on-staff nutritionist created a healthy gourmet menu for both breakfast and lunch that offers items like Sweet Potato Waffles, Carrot Cake Pancakes, Spinach Eggs Benedict on a Portobello Mushroom, Crispy Skin Salmon, Bison or Tuna Burgers, sandwiches, salads, and wraps-all with that Vitality House eye for freshness, flavor and good nutritional value. |
The "Fast-Casual" dining concepts continue to flock to Richardson:
| Soulfish Grill & Bar - 2000 N. Plano Rd. at Campbell. What Casa Milagro did for Mexican food, Soulfish does for seafood in the same center. Great decor "Tiki bar" along with Cajun/Creole-style cuisine. |
| Owners Dave and Greg opened Urban Eatz earlier this year in Richardson's Eastside. At their original Las Colinas location since 2006, they opened a second location at Eastside to bring their diverse fast-casual menu to busy professionals and families on the go. They offer fresh Angus beef, natural chicken breast, imported cheeses, fresh produce, freshly baked breads arriving daily, homemade salad dressings, soup, pasta sauces, spreads, burgers, and turkey burgers that are prepared from scratch in their kitchen. Beer and wine selections also available. |
| Chiloso Mexican Bistro, also at Eastside, features tacos, burritos, salads, nachos, and their famous "Austin-style" breakfast tacos. |
| Panda Express, the fastest growing Chinese restaurant chain in the U.S., opened their first Richardson site at Richardson Square on S. Plano Rd. in front of Lowe's Home Improvement store. |

| Destan Restaurant is a new buffet next to Quizno's that featuers a wide selection of Mediterranean favorites. |
| Taco Ocho is a new Mexican food concept emphasizing Northern Mexican style tacos, tostadas and tortas (a grilled sandwich made with bolillo bread) at recently remodeled 930 E. Campbell Rd. |
| Bop House Asian Fusion Kitchen, next to Taco Ocho, offers quick service with large portions of popular Asian/Chinese dishes. |
Coming soon:
| Soulman's Bar-B-Que, serving the Dallas area since 1974, recently bought the former Purdy's location at 1840 N. Plano Rd., and will open in late October. CEO and Partner Brett Randle is anxious to open their ninth location and promises, "We're not stingy with our meat!" |
| Carl's Jr. will open their 11th Dallas area location at W. Campbell in September. |
In addition to restaurants, Richardson now has a European-style Farmer's Market for weekend shoppers at two popular city locations.
| The Four Seasons Market is held at II Creeks Plaza on Custer Rd. at Lookout Dr. on Saturdays, and at Eastside in the Plaza area (Campbell at 75) on Sundays. The market is open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and will run through November at both locations. |
