REDP hires two economic development interns
November 12, 2013
The Richardson Economic Development Partnership (REDP) has hired two interns to help with economic development initiatives this fall.
Louis Burns has been hired as a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Intern to create maps that demonstrate why Richardson has a competitive advantage against its competitors in terms of workforce, cost of living, transportation, etc. Louis has a master’s degree in real estate from UTA and is currently working on dual PhDs at UT Dallas in Geographic Information Systems and Arts and Technology. Additionally, he works on his own internet marketing and home improvement projects and is active in his neighborhood association and Toastmasters. He lives with his wife, Rekha, in the Greenwood Hills neighborhood in Richardson.
Davis John has joined the team as Richardson EDGE Intern. Davis’ role is to increase awareness of and engage Richardson businesses with the no-cost Richardson EDGE (Economic Development, Growth and Expansion) program. As a senior at UT Dallas, he is currently pursuing an undergraduate Finance degree. Davis is excited to have a position where outstanding communication skills, motivation, work experience, education, and a history of personal success can be well utilized. After graduating, Davis hopes to continue working in the real estate field.
We invite you to become engaged with our interns’ work. What types of visual data would you like to see represented on a map? Are you interested in learning more about Richardson EDGE? Contact Jenny Mizutowicz for more information.
