Plano-based health and wellness firm AdvoCare International LP has finished a major expansion, adding a new 260,000-square-foot distribution center and nearly 80 new jobs to nearby Richardson.

The company recently moved into its new 260,000-square-foot distribution center at 2800 Telecom Pkwy. in Richardson, which will be an expansion from the AdvoCare's currently headquarters in Plano at 2801 Summit Avenue.

In the past several years, AdvoCare has seen tremendous growth and the expansion gives the company the ability to better serve its distributors and customers, said Allison Levy, vice president and chief legal officer of AdvoCare.

The new space gives AdvoCare the ability to handle an additional 1,500 calls per day. The majority of the 100 jobs at the new distribution center — which includes quality assurance and control employees — will be new positions.

Right now, the company employs about 250 employees in its corporate headquarters and distribution centers.

KDC was the developer of the project.McFadden & Miller was the project's general contractor. Azimuth: Architecture is the project designer of the new facility. Kacy Jones of CBRE represented AdvoCare in the new deal.

The company's Will Call location — the place where customers and distributors pick up AdvoCare products — will stay at the same location on Summit Avenue.
