250 New Jobs Coming to Richardson, Texas as Operator of Largest Private Medicare Exchange, Extend Health, Opens Second Service Center
Facility will Hire, Train and Assist with Licensing of Benefit Advisors to Help Retirees Compare and Choose Private Medicare Plans
Richardson, Texas - May 31, 2011 -- Extend Health, Inc., which operates the largest private Medicare exchange in the country, today announced that it will open a second service center that will employ up to 250 people in Richardson. The new service center is expected to open in July 2011.
Extend Health will continue to operate its service center located in Salt Lake City, Utah which employs more than 650 benefit advisors at its peak.
According to Bryce Williams, CEO of Extend Health, "We were drawn to Richardson based on the concentration and demographics of potential employees with service center experience and the skills required to become licensed benefit advisors. The greater Dallas-Fort Worth area is the fourth largest metropolitan area in the country and home to major U.S. corporations, including 24 of the Fortune 500, and many others that have service centers here."
Added Williams, "Benefit advisors are skilled and compassionate individuals who guide our retiree customers through the process of using an exchange to compare and choose private Medicare plans that meet their needs. We're committed to hiring, training and assisting with the licensing of highly qualified individuals, and to keeping and building well-paying jobs here in the United States."
All Extend Health benefit advisors receive extensive training before putting on a headset. The first step involves new hires earning licenses to sell health insurance in specified states. Extend Health offers pre-licensing courses to help prepare applicants for state exams. Benefit advisors then are enrolled in Extend University, a six-week training course that covers a wide range of topics, during which benefit advisors gain a deeper understanding of Medicare and its importance to millions of older Americans.
Extend Health benefit advisors are supported by the industry's most advanced service center technology from Microsoft, including routing systems that direct every caller to a benefit advisor with licensure and insurance appointments that match the caller's geographic area and available plans. Advanced decision support tools help benefit advisors provide clear and concise guidance and support, and make it easy for retirees to select the private Medicare coverage that best suits their needs.
Over seven years, Extend Health has built the largest private Medicare exchange in the country. More employers have used Extend Health than any other company to transition their retirees to a private Medicare exchange. Extend Health also is the only company that has helped more than 350,000 retirees use an exchange to select from over 3,500 private Medicare plans from 73 national and regional insurance companies.
